Jean Prouvé developed the Compas table in various models around 1950, applying the construction principles that he is known for. All share elegantly splayed, narrow legs in metal, a formal reminder of a compass – in French, “le compas”.
The new Compas desk has oiled solid wood table tops. With its compact dimensions, and exceptional colour palette, the table is ideal for the contemporary home office.
Vitra is expanding the palette for Jean Prouvé’s furniture to include some of the original Prouvé colours: the existing options of deep black, Japanese red and Blanc Colombe will be joined by Gris Vermeer, Bleu Dynastie, Blé Vert and Bleu Marcoule.
