Hydro Glass Vase By Sofie Østerby

With Hydro, designer Sofie Østerby references classic ceramic vases and ancient Greek vessels. Made from mouthblown crystalline glass using traditional techniques, the shape still resembles traditional iconic pottery - a modern take on the traditional vessel.

It is essential to the designer that what we surround ourselves with has a long shelf life. The vases are created from a ‘hands-on’ method, emphasising timelessness, texture, and material nature - all guiding principles in Østerby’s work.

Part of Fredericia's 'Complements' collection - extending from objects to small functional furniture. Designed by "both new and established names, who share our affinity for honest materials, compelling shapes, surface textures and exceptional craftsmanship."

Materials
Mouthblown vase made from crystalline lead-free glass with a scissor-cut rim.
To obtain a thick rounded rim, the rim is finished by hand using metal scissors.
